About

I am a twenty-something bibliophile who works in marketing and loved the 2 1/2 years I spent as a bookseller and bookstore event planner.  I read and review literary fiction, memoirs, and an eclectic smattering of nonfiction,  I like  frolicking with my husband and our basset hound, and I’m obsessed with dresses and skirts that have pockets. Also?  I have a major thing for John Irving and the opposite of a thing for Nicholas Sparks, and I’ll admit straight off to being a bit of a book snob.

I love meeting readers and authors and publicists and would be thrilled to hear from you. Visit my contact page for more information.

  1. I love your header picture! That’s so cool!

  2. Thanks! That’s the parking deck of the Kansas City Public Library, where I got married in January. It’s beautiful!

  3. I thought it was a composite picture. One of a distant building and the other of a row of books, to give the illusion that the books was a row of buildings. I did wonder why all the books were fat. It makes an excellent header photo for a bookworm. I’m jealous.

  4. Wow, how long have you been working on this? I am so impressed with what you’ve done.

  5. Readerville was born on July 1, 2008…so at the time you asked this question, I’d been doing it for exactly 4 weeks :)

    But I suppose I’ve spent 25 years preparing…

  6. I am so excited that you cam along! I’m also an avid reader as well as an aspiring writer and its good to run into other people, whether faced to face or online, who still read. I love what you’re doing and keep up the good work.

  7. How does one get to be your friend? I’d like to be #1426

  8. Jena: The “friends of the book lady” is actually my hit counter. I was closing in on 8,000 before I moved over here from my old blog (which was only a month old), but I couldn’t bring that count with me :(

  9. I’ve stopped by to visit a couple of times, but just noticed that we have several of the same blogs on our blogroll (I am Captain Obvious, after all).
Congratulations on your (relatively) new marriage!

  10. I also thought your header was a composite picture. How cool!

  11. This is my first visit here. I am very impressed. Your whole blog is exciting. Congratulations on a job well-done. I love it. The books on the top of the page say it all – and say it very well.

    GL

  12. I somehow just stumbled upon your blog and I love it! I am an avid reader myself and will be using your reviews before I pick up my next read!
