Want tickets to a screening of The Time Traveler’s Wife?

If you missed my Twitterific giveaway last night (and I realize that many of you did because 10pm is kind of late), do not despair! There’s hope for you yet.

I still have a few pairs of tickets to the August 12th Washington, DC screening of The Time Traveler’s Wife.

Want ‘em?  Here’s how:

  • Leave a comment here to be entered.  Tell me who you’ll take with you if you win.
  • Tweet, blog, or stumble this giveaway for an additional entry (and be sure to come back and leave a comment with a link letting me know that you did).
  • If you don’t have a blog or a Twitter account, email 5 friends about the giveaway. CC me on the email bookladyblog (at) gmail (dot) com.
  • Entries will be accepted until Wednesday, August 5th at 11:59pm Eastern.
  • Winners will be chosen randomly.

Good luck to ya!

Special thanks to Warner Brothers for offering me this opportunity. As I mentioned on Twitter last night, I don’t usually participate in promotions like this, but I was so excited to hear that they’re reaching out to bookish folks that I just couldn’t say no.

  1. I wouldn’t be able to go as I’m not in DC but I’d pass my tickets along to my best friend and her sister who live there—they were the ones who told me that I really ought to read TTW, and I did and loved it.

I twittered about it at twitter.com/seewrites

    Thanks!

  15. I would take my mom. I love this story and she practically swoons everytime she sees a preview for it.

  16. I would brign my best friend. Her and I did our project about TTTW and loved it so much!

  17. Audrey Niffenegger’s book drove me to tears. As I follow Henry and Claire’s shockingly unique relationship, I was truly awestruck by the strength of bond and the way they keep up their ceaseless faith, hope, and attempt to keep their love perpetually alive. Henry’s time travel is especially troublesome for Claire, especially when she has to accept his presence at his varied different age levels, and his frequent disappearance without warning. It’s exhilarating to capture their ability to maintain their love relationship despite so many obstacles. And yet, love in this book is not merely defined as the relationship, shared between Henry and Claire, in which both very much look forward to the times of being together to offer them their strength to live. Through seeing what love does to Henry’s father and Henry’s old girlfriend, we do know that love can also destroy one’s state of mind.

I was moved to tears by the book and and I would love to see this film to find out if it affects me in the same way.

  18. By, the way, I would bring my neighbor who’s husband is always in and out of town.

  19. If I win, I will take my fiance.

  20. If I win, I will take my best friend.

  21. My husband. Thanks for your consideration

  22. I have read this book five times. I have never fallen in love with a book like this one. I feel like I know each of the characters personally. I have cried every time I have finished it — the first time I cried so hard that I had to finish it from my bathroom to keep from waking my sleeping boyfriend.

Last year, I went to Asia for one month. To keep from carrying around too much excess weight, I just brought just one book, of course, The Time Travelers Wife. I read it four times during that trip.

I have had the release date for this movie on my calendar for months. I can’t wait to see it. If I win these tickets, I will bring one of my closest girlfriends who I have known all of my life. She introduced this wonderful book to me.

FYI – I emailed 5 friends and BCCed you.

  23. me and my friend :)

  24. I would bring my roomate. He doesn’t go out much so it will be a treat for him.
